Throughout the Series[]

Season 1[]

Adil comes to Fort Salem to seek the help and healing of the witches there for his sick sister, Khalida.

Adil seems disgusted with the military's actions and he seems resistant to help them at all, believing they are not using their powers for good. He and Abigail strike up a friendship, turned romance, but even Abigail can not convince Adil that they want to make a positive difference in the world. He reminds her that every time they use their powers to make tornados or wind or change the natural earth, they are creating a natural disaster in another part of the world.

Powers and abilities[]

Powers[]

Witch Physiology: As a witch, Adil possesses enhanced vocal chords that are capable of creating change in the physical world by singing different seed sounds and songs, as well as enhanced ears -- as stated in Up is Down: eardrums with "five mallea", compared to a regular human's one, that are capable of sensing subsonic and ultrasonic frequencies far beyond the capabilities of normal humans. As a member of the Tarim, he possesses profoundly rare and powerful seeds.

  • Omnilingualism: Due to speaking Méníshè -- the root of all known languages -- from birth, Adil is capable of speaking nearly every language. In Coup, Adil warns Khalida to stop provoking Alder in Mothertongue. In Abomination, Channing Grafton -- Mothertongue instructor at Fort Salem -- notes that Adil is able to "speak perfect English, a language he's never studied". In Cession in Session, Adil is seen speaking Salish, Shoshone, Lakota, Ojibwe, Cherokee, Muscogee, and Navajo, respectively, to each of the heads of the Council of the Great River.
  • Cloaking (Invisibility): Accompanied by an orange glow, Adil is able to seemingly fade into another dimension, becoming invisible at will through the use of a seed sound -- first shown purportedly in Up is Down, as Adil seemingly vanishes in front of Abigail the first time they meet, and again in Mother Mycelium when he gets frightened by a helicopter returning to base. He can cloak others along with him, as he did with his sister when he first traveled to Fort Salem in Up is Down and, as well as the first time he shows Abigail in the Mother Mycelium — and later in the episode when he brings Khalida out to the woods for Raelle to heal her. In Irrevocable, he uses this ability again to sneak himself and Abigail into the Camarilla. In Homo Cantus, when Abigail and Adil are suspected by a cop at a Not Our Daughters rally, they are forced to hide in a bush under the cover of Adil's cloak in order to get away. In The Price of Work, Adil concealed Abigail and himself while acting as lookouts for Raelle and Scylla while they steal a boat for them to enter the Cession, and again at the end of the episode after returning from the chemical plant to attempt to go unnoticed by the Marshals -- however, it is negated by the Marshall's whistle which uncloaks him.
  • Earthwork: The Tarim possess rare songs that allow them to manipulate the earth. The Works they can accomplish include: manipulation of seismic waves -- as well as fine control of the earth itself, splitting rock, creating land where there was none, pressure manipulation, and erosion.
    • Earth Manipulation: In Witchbomb, Adil uses his unique songs to lower a wall of rock that was blocking him and the unit from the other Tarim. In Irrevocable, he opens a hole in the wall large enough for him and Abigail to travel through.
      • Earthquake Creation (Seismic Activity): In Of the Blood, Adil triggers a strong earthquake while he and Abigail were getting intimate.
      • Earth Movement: In My 3 Dads, Adil manipulates the earth around Charvel in such a way as to raise her hand up through the dirt to retrieve some of her blood in a vial.
      • Geo Measuring and Projection: Adil is capable of measuring intricate structures, through the earth, and projecting 3-D blueprints of them by sprinkling dust over a certain are, revealing structures projected in great detail, as shown in Irrevocable.
      • Sinkhole Creation: At the end of Irrevocable, Adil completely collapses the Camarilla hideout by creating a large sinkhole under the building.
      • Fissure Creation: In Revolution, Part 1, he and Khalida open up a large fissure in the road, preventing the prison bus carrying the Bellweather unit from escaping.
      • Earth Rippling (Tectonic Shifting): In The Price of Work, while at the chemical plant, Adil unleashes seismic activity that cracks and bows the ground underneath everyone, sending forward a literal wave of earth. In She Returns, he sends forth a wave of earth into an oncoming invading Camarilla-led Army vehicle, flipping it onto it's roof, sliding mere inches away from Adil -- as a way of distracting the civilian commander, allowing for Abigail to finish him off.
        • Disintegration: In The Price of Work, in unison with Abigail's weatherwork, the two managed the "Union of Sky and Earth", which seemingly disintegrates all of the target Camarilla operatives, leaving Tally in shock.
    • Pressure Manipulation: In Irrevocable, Adil crushes the body of a member of the Camarilla attempting to sneak up on Abigail, seeming to apply the pressure of the earth to his entire body, crunching his bones and flattening him.
      • Strength Manipulation: In Irrevocable, Adil puts an incredible amount of strength - the strength of the earth - behind his punch to knock out the guy causing him and Abigail trouble at the bar with one swing.
  • Blood Compass (Tracking via Blood): In Witchbomb, during a rescue mission in the Altai Mountains, Adil was able to efficiently locate where the Tarim were hiding. In Irrevocable, he offers the Work he used to help Abigail track down Charvel's vocal chords (and hopefully the people who took them). It requires a blood sample from the person (or owner of the body part) they are attempting to track. This is actually put to into action in Irrevocable, as Adil is shown creating a "Blood Compass" out of a regular river rock; the compass has a round indentation in the middle (for where to put the blood), which is surrounded by a ring with runes carved at each cardinal and intermediate direction. After the blood is dripped into the center, Adil uses his unique Work, which creates streams of blood leading to the body in which the blood was taken from -- if the body is split up several lines will appear, the thickness of each line depending on the amount of the person which is in each direction. In Oh Elayne..., once split up, Adil uses a blood compass to track Khalida. Once he realizes she's quickly going North, they immediately follow.
  • Levitation: In Oh Elayne.., after returning from the chemical plant and realizing that the Marshals were on their tail, the group decides to split up.  Abigail, Adil, and Tally decide to utilize salva to make an escape off of a steep cliff.
