Not Our Daughters is the fourth episode in Season 2 of the Freeform series, Motherland: Fort Salem. It aired on July 13, 2021.

Synopsis[]

Anti-witch sentiment boils over as the Unit defends the first witch testing center at its grand opening. Anacostia and Scylla go undercover to follow The Camarilla.

Plot[]

Tally continues to investigate the mystery of Sarah Alder and Nicte Batan, discovering books which state that Alder wasn't present at an event known as the Martyrdom, despite having experienced visions of her having been there. Meanwhile, Alder, having learned that the Camarilla are using hearing tests to identify witches, is ready to begin her plan to open testing centers for witches throughout the nation.

Alder presents the plan for witch testing to the nation, but is met with crowds of angry individuals chanting "Not our daughters!" Coven Sekhmet is brought in for protection and Blanton Silver thanks Tally for personally taking his daughter Penelope under her wing, saying that he doesn't have the first idea what to do with her. Penelope, however, takes umbrage at this, pointing out that she's his daughter and not some "broken toy."

The Spree appear on-site of the demonstration against the witch-testing centers and launch an attack, or so it seems. In the melee, Tally pleads with the crowd, making a personal appeal that their daughters will be in great company and do things that they had never thought possible. Her plea, however, falls on deaf ears, as the true nature of the attack is revealed - the Camarilla, who have stolen the voice of, among others, Abigail's deceased sister, Charvel. The Camarilla, using her voice, tell her that they've been waiting to finish what they started at the wedding.

Tally, upset, declares that Alder has been telling one lie after the other. She explains that she's been telling the nation that their enemy is still the Spree, when the real enemy is the Camarilla. She continues that it's always someone's life she's playing with and storms into her office, demanding "No more lies. Who is Nicte Batan?"
