Libba was a recurring character in Motherland: Fort Salem. She is portrayed by Sarah Yarkin.

History[]

Because the Swythe family has had a generations-long family feud with the Bellweathers, another prominent High Atlantic family, she and Abigail Bellweather followed suit and became rivals. At one point, Libba began dating Gregorio Shellbark,[1] who was later selected to be Abigail's Cavalier for her debut. When Libba danced with him before Abigail could, Abigail, not knowing that the two were together, was offended that Libba had taken the moment from her and considered it a declaration of war.[2] The two have been antagonistic towards each other since.

Throughout the Series[]

Season 1[]

Libba was a cadet at Fort Salem. She and Abigail openly fought. They hated each other and had a longstanding history.

Often during training, Libba sparred with Abigail. Eventually, however, they reached a mutual understanding and respect, as seen in the episode, Citydrop, where Libba runs to Abigail's defense when they are fighting the fake Spree operatives.

When the cadets are abruptly summoned to fight the actual Spree, who are nearby in Boston, they go to fight off two trucks of Spree members. In the confrontation, the cadets blow up the truck. Libba gets hit and she ends up dying, devastating her fellow cadets.

Legacy[]

Because Abigail was the only other High Atlantic witch in their batch, she gave the eulogy at Libba's funeral. While at first expected to give a generic speech regarding honor and duty, Abigail went off-script and spoke from the heart, speaking first of their hostile history before eventually thanking her.[3]

When Abigail was placed in the same coven as Libba's ex-boyfriend Gregorio Shellbark at War College, Gregorio finally told Abigail and her friends the truth about their dance at the debut.[1] At the Samhain after her death, Gregorio chose her to be the dead he would commune with, and Abigail asked him to pass on her regards.[4]

Physical Appearance[]

Libba is short and has short, dark curly hair.
