Salva is a government-sanctioned drug used by witches in combat drops to levitate. According to General Alder, the recipe is "quite ancient." It appears to be made out of plants.[1] An untrained witch using salva will need medical attention.[2] Salva has a time limit to how long it can be used.[2][3]
Large doses of salva will allow the user to fly for a longer time.[3] It is extremely difficult to use and maneuver, however, especially for inexperienced users and those overcome with emotions.[4]
